Three Things That Bring Me Happiness:
Today’s happiness entry is going to be a little less (vegan-friendly) meaty than yesterday’s….and will consist of some delicious links and pictures for you to peruse through at your own pace. Feel a sad cloud heading in your direction? Pull up this entry and throw rainbows into the clouds. š
1.) Gravity Glue’s gallery.
A few of my favorites (captions are mine, not artist’s):
The photographer/artist isĀ Michael Grab, who describes this art form:
“As far as I understand, rock balance is a lingering art form passed down over most if not all of human history through various cultures around the world; an embedded part of the collective human psyche.Ā Functions range from symbolizing the presence of people, to marking oneās trail, to gestures of thanks giving, to meditative art.Ā For Me, it is very much a meditative art, but also a display of Nature’s beauty. When I started, I found it a perfect way to bring ordinary objects in nature to life. Leaning into the rushing water of the creek, they acted as a reference for meditation. Balanced spirit inspired balanced spirit.”
2.) Getting a phone call from a colleague just because they want to check in and see how you are doing.
3.) Violinist Lara St. John’s latest blog entry: Tricks for Getting Your Violin on a Plane.
This may be another case of my inner-music nerd rearing her ridiculous head. To (hopefully) help you relate, imagine your most prized possession (about the size of a carry on – preferably nothing that needs to breathe) needs to fly with you somewhere. This possession is fragile to both sudden jars and the elements. If anything happens to it, your livelihood isĀ jeopardized. You NEED this item to be with you because you are emotionally connected to it and financially dependent upon it.
Airlines do not want you to carry this item with youĀ onĀ the plane. Ever. They want you to stow it with the rest of the luggage that will beĀ tossed about until it reaches the belly of your plane and then tossed about some more onto little conveyor belts in airports.
HORROR! Ā ::gasp::
This blog serves as a humorous, tactful and strangely useful guide to getting that item onĀ the plane with you…safe and sound… š
